Pastel Altered Box & Fold Out

This little altered keepsake is a wonderful gift for someone you love. With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, you can create this fold out and box as a special memento for a Mom, Grandma, Aunt or special friend. The box can be used to store jewelry and other small trinkets. The pastel colors are sure to cheer anyones heart!

Pastel Altered Box:

This little altered box was created using a paper mache box that I painted using craft paint. Pattern papers were applied to the lid, and sides of box using gel medium. Apply two white paper doilies to the sides of box -that have been folded in half. One half will be shown on the outside of the box, the other will go into the interior. Adhere to box using gel medium.

I then selected the smaller ATC size patterns from Digi 219 Pastels Pink Sheet, Digi 217 Pastels Buttercup were layered on to the lid using gel medium. When this was dry, I added the Beautiful Faces – Sheet 256 in the center image on the box lid and blue butterflies from 215 Butterfly Sheet. A small Lost and Found Brad was added to the center of the butterfly.

Spring Pastel Fold Out:
Cut one strip of cardstock that measures 12 inches long. Score every 3 inches to create folds. Layer various pastel digi sheet patterns to the back of the pre-scored cardstock strip with adhesive. Punch out four patterns using a scallop circle punch and adhere to fold out. Cut images from Beautiful faces – Sheet 256 and add on two of the backgrounds. Add paper lace sticker border to selected background. Add pastel word coordinates (I used “Love” and “Friend”). Add butterflies and that have colorful brads in the centers. Punch two holes on ends of cardstock strip and tie ribbon through ends.
