Tree of Life Medallion by Kim MacDonald

Hello, all Paper Whimsy artists and admirers!
This month I tried to use many different art modalities and textures on the Curious Tree Angel Medallion just to spice things up a bit. I must say, I adore this Paper Whimsy alterable and there are so many different ways you can use her.

I started with using multicolored leafing material to make her body colorful. This material is so easy to use. Place glue on the object and then place the leafing materials over the glue. I then rub the leafing a bit to remove the excess and it fills in any areas that have missed leafing.

The wings are coated with mica flakes and I elected to turn the wings upward. Just place glue on wings and cover with the mica flakes—wa lah!

I used thick gold embossing powder for the frame. I also love, love, love thick gold embossing powder. If you are trying to make something look vintage, heat the product less and it will be more raised and “chunky”. With this project, I heated it more to make it smooth.

Inked the tree distressed brown color, added leaves and embellishments. Finished!!
