Three Sisters Mermaids by Kim MacDonald

Hello everyone! I hope your summer has been comfortable, fun and safe.

Living in the Northwest this summer has been quite different—hot and humid!!  Some of the lakes, rivers and Puget Sound have been closed due to heat here,  so I found these cute little mermaid sisters on my doorstep looking for a safe place to harbor.

To make these delightful mermaids, I covered their torsos with antique looking tissue paper.
I popped on tiny sets of sea shells collected many years ago in Mexico, for their tops. I used stringed gold sequins for their fins and finished the tail ends off with a gold paint marker.
PaperWhimsy faces, some sea weed looking fibers for hair, some ribbon that looks like green seaweed and a pearl necklace finish them off.  They are ready for the Neptune Ball!

Items used from PaperWhimsy:

PaperWhimsy Amazing Alterables™ Curious Mermaids
PaperWhimsy Faces Sheet

Other items used: Tan patterned tissue paper from 7 Gypsy (or any old printed ephemera will do), gold string sequins and assorted ribbons.
