Because of its somber name and meaning my choice for Halloween is the Curioso Sepulchral Ornate.
The little girl has a grim, soulful expression on her face. The frame evokes a treasure from another time that sits on a mantle in an old house; a house whose walls are filled with deathwatch beetles, old, forgotten and abandoned. Her frayed heart and rusty surround betray how long she’s been sitting on that dusty old mantle. Like an insect frozen in amber the two pieces of Mica that cover her seem to push her back in time. The rose is, perhaps, a memento or remembrance, dried and preserved. Spooked yet? It’s not too soon to get in the mood for a Happy Halloween!
METHOD
- Use Modern Masters Reactive Metallic Paint and Patina Aging Solution to rust the frame and a wagon wheel.
- Add the photo, framed with mica pieces.
- Add a dried rose, hematite stars, flower bead and heart.
Oh this is really fabulous and your narrative is enthralling Theresa.
