The New Year is arriving soon!
I am wishing you a New Year filled with whimsy, magic, happiness and creativity.
This cheerful New Year Centerpiece is quick to assemble, (under two hours), and the fanciful charm of Gale’s ‘flaeries‘ will make you smile as you put it together.
I chose the Fancy Tea Cups for this month’s post. As I looked through the collage sheets to see what would work with them, I noticed that three of the Fower Flaeries had their arms outstretched which gave me the idea for the centerpiece. The ribbon and numbers are not attached so the cups can work individually or as a set. The numbers could be replaced with a banner with a saying for any special occasion. If you added a banner with a person’s name, the Tea Cups could be used individually as place settings for a table, or used as a birthday or anniversary setting. There are so many possibilities for these!
METHOD
- Print out Fower flaeries and Beautiful Backgrounds.
- Paint backs, sides and base of tea cups with your choice of colors.
- Paint cogs, numerals and flower to coordinate with paint on teacups.
- To speed up the process you could use spray paint instead of hand painting with acrylic.
- Trace cups on background papers and cut out. Cut out fower flaeries.
- Assemble and glue by placing faeries over cups and under paper cup cut outs.
- Add painted cogs, Dresden Trim, glitter and rhinestones.
- Glue embellishment numerals to thin wire and attach to center teacup. I put the numerals into a small test tube used like a vase so they could be removed. They can be taped on if you prefer.
- Add wire ribbon around the outstretched arms of the faeries and a butterfly or two.
