This week I’m headed to Art is You in Stamford Ct. to teach/laugh/learn/create. One of the many reasons why I enjoy this retreat so much is because of their “Living in Generosity” philosophy. In 2012 they raised over $11,ooo dollars to help victims of Hurricane Sandy, Petaluma’s Women’s Cancer Awareness Group, Sarah’s House in Maine, and BCI Orphanage in Cambodia.
This year along with many other fundraising efforts they have teamed up with Edie Malin in conducting a journal drive for our heroes that are currently deployed or expected to deploy in the coming months.
This is the Journal I created for for one of our Hero’s. I hope he/she likes it and is encouraged to write in it.
I first separate a pre-made journal I purchased…
then covered the front in premium paper…
I added paint to the Curious Object #3 and then highlighted the edges with Inka Gold Red
I choose one of the many tags in the Paper Whimsy shop and used one under the frame…
then glued on the Alterable to the Journal cover, added rub-ons and Liquid pearl dots…
and added paper and gear to finish up the Alterable…
and Attached some more tags to the sides of journal
and finished off with some bling.
For more information on this wonderful way to help our heroes just go here!
Here are some of the items I used to create the Journal.
Lovely Cat, and such a wonderful thing to do 🙂
A way cool piece for a way cool cause! Thanks for sharing the journal and the information.
