~’Tis Moonlight, Summer Moonlight~ ATC Accordion Book

‘Tis moonlight, summer moonlight

‘Tis moonlight, summer moonlight,
All soft and still and fair;
The solemn hour of midnight
Breathes sweet thoughts everywhere,

But most where trees are sending
Their breezy boughs on high,
Or stooping low are lending
A shelter from the sky.

And there in those wild bowers
A lovely form is laid;
Green grass and dew-steeped flowers
Wave gently round her head.

~Emily Jane Brontë~

I have been playing around with the Idea of Creating an ATC Book as an  Inspire Project for a While Now. So when Gale Came up with the ATC Frame it Inspired had a Clever Notion!  An Accordion Book of ATC’s.  A Wee Little Hard Covered Book  paired  with a Lovely Emily Bronte Poem makes this a Sweet Gift or Keepsake.

Technique;

(1)   Calculate how many pages you want in you book plus front and back cover end papers.  ( End Papers will be Glued directly to Front Cover- Back and to the Back Cover -Front to Attach Book Together.)   Using Black Cardstock,   cut out  & fold pages to create the pages of your Book.  (I used a Ruler and a Bone Folder to Score and help Create Clean Folding Lines and Edges)   Overlap and Glue pages together if necessary to Create a Multiple Page  Book.   Set aside.

(2)   Separate ATC Frame Front and Back setting aside the U Shaped Frame Insert.  ( I used Fancy ATC Frame 02) .  Using a piece of  Chipboard,  Trace ATC Frame Front and Cut out.  This Creates the Backing  Portion of your Cover.  Decorate your Book Cover then Adhere Chipboard to Back.  Cut Length of Ribbon, and with Ribbon Extending out on Both Sides,  adhere to Chipboard to create the Ribbon Closure for your Book. Repeat for the Back Cover with the exception of the Chipboard piece.  ( You only needed the Chipboard Pieces to Create the Back of the Frame Cover.)  Set Aside.

(3)   Assemble you Book Pages Front and Back.   I used Antique Book Pages  here as my Background then Beautiful Faces, Moons,  Botanica and Insects.   Add Word Art.

(4)   Adhere end papers to inside Book Cover &  Back Cover to Assemble Book.  Tie Ribbons to Close and You are Done!!!

Tips:   I Created ATC Templates to Make Cutting Easier and to keep a Uniformity.   For Me,  I find it easier to Lay everything out First,   then Glue. I Make Less Mistakes this way.

Hope you enjoy this Little  Bit of Whimsy!

~*Happy Creating!*~

    This is absolutely delightful. I saw this on another blog and took the link as soon as I saw the Paper Whimsy. Seeing the book my first thought was that looks like gorgeous projects featured on Paper Whimsy and was I glad to see it indeed was.
    I’ve been away from this delightful and absolutely wonderful site for far too long. I will indeed work a making a little book as close to this as I can with some of the wonderful images I purchased long ago. I’m so happy to be brought back to Paper whimsy as this site had me very spoiled.
