What could welcome spring more than a sweet little flower pot filled with butterflies? This little centerpiece would make a charming accent on the table for a spring tea or Easter dinner.
To create this project paint a paper mache flower pot in a soft spring color (I selected a pale blue). Once dry I added a paper lace sticker border using matte gel medium to secure. Allow time to dry. Hot glue white paper doilies inside the pot, and carefully insert a piece floral foam covered with sheet moss. Set aside.
I cut several butterflies from Digi Sheet 215 and layered to give a 3D effect. I gave wood skewers a dusting of cream craft paint and hot glued the butterflies to the skewers. Small french roses in white were added to the middle of each butterfly, and bits of white wired ribbon and seam binding ribbon tied underneath. Curl the wire ribbon edges around a pencil. Insert the butterflies in odd numbers, as if making a floral arrangement varying heights and positions. Tie a sheer white ribbon around the base of the flower pot.
