Romantic Lace Heart Hanger

For this project I used the Faerie Heart Pocket Template only using the back portion (heart) and omitting the pocket. I traced the heart pattern on to cream felt from the Precious Felt Pack. I printed the Genteel Lady 25 PNG on to a photo fabric sheet. The image was imported into my Microsoft Word program and I resized it to about 2.5 inches wide. Cut the image out using a rotary trimmer or ruler and scissors.

I then took a lace remnant and added a bit of fabric glue to the back. Place the lace on to the felt heart and allow time for it to dry. Once the glue is dry, you may glue or pin the edges of your Genteel Lady image in the center. Add handstitching along the edges to secure. Add a lace border around the image using lace remnants and hand stitching. Old buttons, beads, and prima flowers were added as accent embellishments.

I used a pink grosgrain pre-gathered ribbon border along the edge of the felt heart by handstitching it along the edges. You could also use fabric glue to do this. Just use clothespins or book binding clips as you glue the edge on and allow time to dry. A small cream ribbon hanger was added to the top for hanging purposes.
