Rustic Batting ATC’s

I love working with Warm & Natural craft batting in my art projects. It has the most wonderful texture and is super easy to sew, glue, and create with. For this project, I stained the batting using some coffee…but you can use whatever your heart desires to achieve more of a rustic feel. The batting was cut into ATC size (2.5 x 3.5 inches) and using my machine stitched along the inner edge.
The background was done using scraps of fabric, vintage lace remnants, and some embellishments including a lovely ornate heart charm, and some adorable rustic safety pins. The images are Collage Image Sheet 054 and Collage Image Sheet 129 printed on fabric (you can purchase them already printed on fabric or print your own using fabulous Jacquard Ink Jet Fabric Sheets). I actually used fabric glue on the back of each image to adhere to the batting ATC. You could also hand or machine stitch the images on or use Steam-A-Seam2. A bit of ribbon was added to the top to hang.

Wouldn’t a collection of these wonderful whimsies be gorgeous on the Christmas tree this year?

These are so cute I might have to dust off my sewing machine and give it a try.
