Two Ways to Use Amazing Alterables in Non-Traditional Ways by Tina Walker
Hi…Tina here today with a new project (or two). If you are like me, you LOVE PaperWhimsy Amazing Alterables. I am always thinking of new, non-traditional ways to use my products, and PaperWhimsy products are no exception.
Today, I will show you how to use the same alterable, two different ways.
First up, is a more traditional assemblage type project, but if you look close, I used Amazing Alterables in a new way.
I will walk you through how I created the base of my Faithful Angel.
Step One
Glue alterables to a scrap piece of chipboard or cardboard.
Step Two
Prepare mold putty (per manufacturers instructions) and mold alterable. Since my mold was flat, I needed to add edges to my mold so I could pour resin and create depth.
Step Three
Make mold with resin (per manufacturers instructions). Once resin is somewhat hardened, remove from mold and trim to shape. Paint as desired. I prepped my surface with black gesso and used spray mists for color.
Doesn’t that look fantastic?
Step Four
Assemble and embellish angel as desired.

Ready for project #2?
Take the glued numeral alterables and adhere them to a wood canvas with matte gel. I applied the gel liberally, letting my palette knife strokes be seen. It adds to the overall texture.
Prep the entire surface with gesso and allow to dry completely. Color the background with medium of choice. As above, I used spray mists to color. I love how they sink into all the nooks and crannies.
Add embellishments of choice to your Uber Cool background. 🙂
I hope that today I’ve been able to help you think past the typical, traditional way of using Amazing Alterables. I cannot wait to see what you cook up. My head is still spinning with ideas!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a terrific day!
