Sometimes my process starts in one direction but ends up in a completely different spot in the end. I began this piece as a deep dark red piece but changed my mind. Next, I painted it metallic rose but that wasn’t quite right either. Finally, I gave the board a spray paint coat of off white. While the paint was still tacky, I dabbed off some of the color, leaving it textured with hints of it’s previous incarnations showing through. It might be called the Goldilocks approach, where it takes a few tries to get it “just right”. Instead of using the heart behind the cross, I used it to frame the face of the Genteel Lady. Because the heart has a little dip at the point that would go behind the cross and normally not show, I added a drop clear bead into the niche. It was a feminine touch that seemed just right for this Genteel Lady.
METHOD:
Paint the eco board to your desired color.
Choose a beautiful face to sit behind the heart.
Print out a poem on Inkjet Organza and tear a strip to put behind the frame.
Add rhinestones, cabochons, and other small elegant touches to suit the chosen photo.
