Snow Queen by Theresa Martin

We’ve been having unusual warm weather for December on the East Coast.  I though I’d make an icy silver snow queen from the Curious Medallion Angel to make it feel like the winter season. I added some bling and some textured silver paint for an icy feeling.

METHOD:

  1. I began by painting the alterable with acrylic paint, which I covered with a crackle finish.  Over that, I used a shiny metallic spray paint. The crackle finish gave the pieces nice texture.
  2. The back ground for the torso is black velvet, embellished with silver thread and some cabochons.
  3. The halo, or hair, is a brass ornament spray painted metallic silver.
  4. A few more rhinestones, stars and cabochons were added to the body.
  5. The final touch was a chain with a silver bear bead at the end.
