Happy October from beautiful Minneapolis! The leaves are starting to change color, most mornings are starting out with some chill in the air. Speaking of chills…Halloween is right around the corner! Chills, thrills and lots of candy! What’s not to love about that?
We are going to be meeting a witch named Minerva, that is not a slur on her character, she really is a witch! It is her first big party, All Hallows’ Eve, and she is very excited! Minerva got a new dress, a new hat and some really amazing boots! She even got her hair straightened! She decided to bring a few friends, her pet Ravens, Frank and Stein. She is also bringing the spirit of some french chick who sometimes pops in, (literally, with her Raven, Armand), when there is the possibility of fiendishly fun partying! Hence the Boo La La!
I hope everyone enjoys this in between time, not hot and not quite cold, just the promise of change on the way!
Supplies from PaperWhimsy:
Curious Character Niche, Sans Legs
InkaGold paint in Orange and GreenYellow
Papers: Halloween 01 (download), BOO! Sheet (download), Faerie Sheets: 003, 004, 006 (downloads), Witchy Hats (download)
Other supplies: Halloween stamp and brown ink stamp pad, Super Glue, Modpodge, Checked green, and black ribbon; 2 rivets and some string; 6 rhinestones; Type
Method:
Start by painting all pieces of the Niche, and set aside to dry, cut out all the images while waiting. After drying, I stamped all the pieces that needed stamping and glued everything with SuperGlue. I used ModPodge for glueing all the papers. I attached the arms together with string at the joints, and rivets to attach the arms to the niche. Each of the three Ravens got a red rhinestone for their eyes and Minerva got green for her bewitching eyes. I twisted the two ribbons together, tied a bow and voila, This girl is ready to party! Boo La La, indeed!
As my mama and dad used to say: “Now, don’t eat all that candy, your going to get sick!” To which I usually replied, “I won’t”, which we all knew was probably not true…..Happy Halloween!
I love her so much! She’s absolutely adorable.
Funny, I grew up in Saint Peter, Minnesota. I miss the colorful leaves this thine of year. Breathtaking.
