Filigree Automaton Queen by Michelle Talley

It seems like forever since my last project…we have been very busy in Talley Land…

We decided it was time to shake things up, so we sold our house, bought a super cool loft in a great old building, and our place comes complete with a four floor tower!!! We have all made the adjustment from big old house with a huge fenced in yard for the fur babies, to taking the lift down and out, to take the dogs out. They love the huge dog run on the property, so that takes away the guilt!!!

Anyway, here is a new piece, from my new space. Someone to watch over us, and keep us safe and maybe keep our secrets.

 

 

I started with the ever cool Automaton Reliquary, used one of the lovely faces from Sheet #315.

Inside the reliquary I used digi 265 and digi 258 for the front (all these collage images mentioned are available as a download or printed). I also used from the Accoutrements goodies, one of the Relic Medallions. From my bag of tricks, I used a brass filigree piece and a brass bezel to frame her beautiful face.

I used ModPodge to place the images, E6000 to glue the all the pieces together. I used Inka Old Gold paint on all painted surfaces and PanPastel in yellow ochre and red to highlight the the medallion she is holding up. In the inner hands she is guarding  a red brass rose, and perhaps some secrets!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer, and I am happy to be back in my studio! I can’t wait to see what new goodies are coming my way from PaperWhimsy! See you next month!
