A Weird Bird Whimsy Wagon
When I spied the Fancy Ornaments, I thought they would make an awesome structure for a carousel. The carousel was my original vision but I ended up with a wagon because the piece screamed out for wheels. There are a lot of animals available that would make a great carousel, so that may still be in the future. This could also be made with the new reindeer for a seasonal theme. Since the weird birds are favorites of mine, they made the first piece. I hope the next one I see is one YOU’VE made!
Method
1. Prep the ornaments, the wheels, and the fancy cogs by painting with an under color. Let dry and paint with a different color. When dry, scratch away some of top coat with sandpaper for grunge finish.
2. Paint a small piece of dowel.
3. Drill hole in ornaments to hold dowel in place.
4. The wheels are made with a skewer for the axel. Tape the axel to the bottom of the larger ornament. This will allow the wheels to turn.
5. Add Ivory Wired Ribbon to the hole in the large ornament.
6. Print out the weird birds to the desired size and paint the backside black before cutting them out.
7. Glue on the Weird birds using a small piece of dowel to reinforce them.
8. Add a skull bead or other focal image to top.
