Guest Designer: Theresa Martin
In my area a new twist to Halloween is the decorating of houses with lights where people compete with their light displays. Halloween celebrations grow larger and more popular each year. Elaborate displays appear, rivaling the biggest Christmas house decorations and local newspapers cover these houses, cars and pedestrians stream by to visit.

Sleepy Hollow is inspired by the Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Haunted Houses combined. Lit by a flameless candle, the mysterious girl from Sheet 313 peers out of her window, past the dark gates while a horse is silhouetted by the moon.
Photographing in low light allowed me to get some spooky photos and shadows.

Method:
1. Assemble the Wee Moon House but do not attach the bottom piece in its intended spot. The bottom piece is attached to the bottom front to raise the house and allow room for the flameless candle to prop up the back.
2. Spray paint or paint the house and the fences; I used the medium Fancy Gothic Fence and the medium Fancy Fleur Fence . Add black glitter.
3. Use hot glue to attach the two gates to the front.
4. Spray a small piece of cut glass (use glass cutter to shape) with Krylon Looking Glass Mirror Like Paint (found at craft and hardware stores). A dab of vinegar on the paint removes enough paint to give the mirror an aged effect and gives enough space to have the candle light shine through. Attach the girl to the mirror with foam adhesive to lift her slight away from the glass.
5. The horse on top is one of my custom jewelry pieces. A found horse painted black or one of Gale’s wooden laser crows would be a great topper.
6. Blue black carpet tacks wrapped with wire and skull beads make great scary embellishments.
