This week Gale came up with a Gorgeous Collection Called the Salmagundi Suite 01 in Shades of Pink and Cream. So many Fun Little Bits and Elements for Cards, Tags, Collage or just about anything you Can Think of!
My Little Bit of Whimsy today is called ‘ A Cheery Hello‘ Card Hanger with matching Cards. I was thinking this would be a Fun Project to make as a gift, for Mother, For Grandmother or Friend. So many Fun Possibilities!
Technique:
(1) To Make the Card Hanger, Cut out 2- 5×7 pieces (Front & Back) of patterned paper using a decorative scissors. Set aside the Back Portion of your Hanger. Starting with your Hanger Front, Layer Contrasting Paper and Paper Doilies then Adhere in Place. For my Piece I ran a Decorative Stitch on my Sewing Machine to add another Element and also to tack My Layers to the Card Hanger Front. Now Add you Beautiful Face Image. I added a Chipboard Frame. Matching Front and Back Pieces together, Stitch or Glue together to Create your Pocket for your Hanger. Using Hole Punch, Punch Holes Then Loop Wire to Create your Hanger . (I used White Cloth Covered Wire.) Finish with Ribbon and your remaining Embellishments. Your Done!
(2) To Create the Cards use the same Techniques as the Card Hanger Front. Here I used Layers of Corresponding Paper and Paper Doilies. Then using my Sewing Machine, I added a Decorative Stitched Border. Next Add your Beautiful Face Image and Embellishments.
*The Salamagundi Suite Papers Open up so Many Fun 3 Dimensional Possibilities Using the 3D Dots for your Card Making. I Liked Printing these on a Heavy Card Stock because I Like to Bend and Contour my Paper. The Pennants and Ribbons as well as the wings of the Butterflies and Birds are Perfect for this. I Hope you Enjoy Playing and Creating with these.
Happy Creating !
