What one of us doesn’t like Small Bits of Treasure and Curiosities. For Me its My Magpie Heart I think. There is Something so Intriguing and Curious about them that we are Compelled to Examine all of the Small Intricate Details. Why not Make them a Treasure and Assemble them into a Special Collection, a Petite Curiosité de Montage (Small Curiosity Assembly).
Technique:
(1) Paint the Inside and Outside of a Wooden Curio Box. I started with a Warm Wooden Tone Paint or Stain First then added a Coat of White Paint over the top. Allow time to Dry. Using Sand Paper, Lightly Sand Box to give a Distressed Look allowing the Wood Tone to show through.
(2) Add background paper to the back of your box in each compartment and adhere with Matte Gel Medium. Add Lace (or Ribbon) to the Edge the Compartments. I used E 6000 Glue to adhere the Lace here but you could use a Glue Gun as well.
(3) Now for the Fun Part! I Started with Adhering My Beautiful Face Image in the Center First to make her my Focal Point. I added a Glass Face from a Pocket Watch to frame her a Face. Next, Start arranging your Little Bits of Treasure in the Individual Compartments. I used Vintage Labels ,Wooden Spools with Thread, Lace, Buttons, Game Pieces, Baubles & Bling. When you are Finished, Adhere everything in its place with E 6000 or a Glue Gun.
(4) On the Cover of the Box I added a Silver Spooned Tied Up with Lace and Ribbon. I then Glued it into Place with E 6000 Glue.
Voilà! You are Done!
We would Love to see what you have Created! Please Do Share your Project with Us!
