Playing with Mixed Media

From the art table of PaperWhimsy Designer Julie Loeschke

Woohoo!  My first project as a Guest Designer for PaperWhimsy.  I am so excited to be here and I’m ready and rarin’ to go!  So, let’s begin…

Mixing media is a wonderful way to stretch your artistic wings and play with just about everything on your art table!  For this project I altered some file folders but this technique can be used on a multitude of substrates including heavy watercolor paper, wood (how about on a cigar box?), masonite board, canvas… you name it.

I’ve prepared a PDF with the full instructions – Playing with Mixed Media by Julie Loeschke.  The file is slightly over 1MB so please be patient while it loads.  You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the file.

I hope you enjoy and I would love to see what you create playing with mixed media art.

  5. Oh how fun! I have a little stock of file folders just waiting for playtime. Thanks Jules, I can hardly wait to get to your tutorial…I do have a couple of bits I MUST do first. I dare not even look at the tutorial yet because I have no will of my own when it comes to art!

Julie, the folders are wonderful! It’s a great tutorial & very well written. I’m looking forward to creating some beautiful new folders to hold very special items – like Julie Loeschke tutorials!

One question: I couldn’t make the links work – any suggestions?

    Hi,

Did I see instructions somewhere on this website for purse pads? Somehow I’m sure I saw them but then lost them?

    Thanks,
    Arline

I’m not familiar with purse pads so I think it must have been a different website, Arline.
