From the art table of PaperWhimsy Design Artist Jill McCall
These little canvases will become a cherished family heirloom. A fun project for all or a wonderful gift for someone special. Be Mine and Sweet have a Valentine themed but this Project can take any theme you choose. Easter, Mothers Day or simply a spring theme. So many fun possibilities!
Technique:
(1) Print a sheet of handwriting script of you choice as a background making sure your sheet is large enough to wrap around to the back of the canvas encompassing all edges. (I like using just regular printer paper because when I glued it to my canvas the canvas texture came through.I Loved the look !) I used matte gel medium here to adhere my script sheet to the canvas giving it a generous coat. Then I applied a top coat to seal and give brush stroke texture to the script paper. Set aside to dry.
(2) Cut a square and a heart of fabric, then starting with the square and topping with the heart, glue to your canvas. Next adhere your Beautiful Faces Image to fabric heart. Add your word art and glue. After drying, antique edges with a distressing ink.
(3) Cut a length of cluny lace long enough to wrap around to the back of your canvas. Add seam binding ribbon, wired raffia bow ribbon and unraveled thread from you fabric to embellish. I used unraveled thread to make a nest of buttons.
(4) Cut out Butterflies and adhere to your canvas.
Please do share! We would love to hear about your Project!
