Seashore Altered Tags

Summer is here and who wouldn’t be smitten with the lovely new beautiful faces in the shoppe for art inspiration. The sea side is the theme for this project using old text, tags, beautiful faces, and sea shell embellishments. I went with a more neutral color palette to enhance the colors of the images and sea shells.

Supplies:
Collage Sheet 261
Collage Sheet 262
Collage Sheet 263
Digi Sheet 237
Rusty Pins
Beads
Mixed Seashells

I created the tags by covering standard shipping tags with old book text, cheesecloth, and frayed muslin squares. The sewing machine held this items into place with some stitching. Bits of lace were added to the bottom of the tags. The beautiful face images were centered using the machine to stitch a border around them. With some craft glue, add shells and beads. The word art was added with double sided tape and twine tied through the top hole of the tag. A wee rusty pin adds some rugged charm.

Variations: Create your tags using pretty papers for the background. Fibers and ribbons could be added for ties at the top.
