What could be more enchanting then pretty Garden Party cones displayed at your next tea, luncheon, or party? Or make one for a special friend and fill with trinkets and treasures! Display the cones on your party table, or string from pretty ribbons and drape from mantels, china cabinets, books cases or as a garland above a pretty window. With the bounty of color and pretty petals you will have a gorgeous display for the summer.
To create the little cones simply cover a cardboard party hat with pattern paper. I used Tacky glue to hold the paper because the humidity is quite high in the summer (double sided tape will work also.) Use small book clips to hold the paper while it dries. Once the paper is dry, roll back into a cone shape, running tacky glue along the edge to hold. Place book clips on edges to hold in place while the cone dries.
Attach pretty ribbon hangers by stapling in place at outer edges. Make sure they are even. Cover the edges of the cone with ribbon or lace by running tacky glue along the edges. Once this is dry, you can add a pretty crepe paper ruffle to the inside of the cone. Fold the crepe paper to create a ruffle (again, you may want to use book clips to hold in place while this dries.)
When the cone is dry, add a paper doily to the front using a bit of Matte Gel. When doily is dry add the Paper Medallion. I used this tutorial to create mine. Add a pretty petal to the center of the medallion using E6000 glue. Once dry, put E6000 glue on the back of the medallion and glue to the front of the cone.
Stuff your cone with shredded crinkled paper and add a bit of tulle. You can now add pretty trinkets and treasures to the inside!
