Victorian Truffle Cone

Sweets for the sweet! This simple little Victorian cone would make anyones heart melt. The cone was made using a children’s birthday hat that I covered with pattern paper using glue along the edges. Lace was glued around the edges and gold tinsel stems. I pierced holes on either side to add a tinsel stem hanger/handle (you could also use ribbon or wire) and crinkled paper bits were added to the inside. Add a bit of ribbon on each side and tie in a bow. I picked one of the many gorgeous flowers that Paper Whimsy has in their Pretty Petal section of the shop and glued to the front of the cone. Add some yummy chocolate truffles and you have a sweet little gift for the chocolate art lover in your life!

Glorious cone and I love the idea of starting with a birthday hat.

Nancy, What a clever idea using the party hats for your cone base. I know Michael’s carries heavy paper mache cones which come in packages of four. They are fab for this type of project, but pricey. Lovely art Nancy.

So awesome, you are all so talented. Love all of it. I especially love to make cones, make cones for Christmas ornaments every year but try to vary the ideas of them.
I have several cone patterns but one especially that’s quicker to make. I’ll have to look for the paper mache cones at Michaels or Hobby Lobby if I need to make them stronger. Thanks so much for all the creatively inspiring ideas.
I got several cone patterns from the Martha Stewart/Weddings site.
