Hello everyone! I hope your summer has been comfortable, fun and safe.<\/p>\n

Living in the Northwest this summer has been quite different\u2014hot and humid!! \u00a0Some of the lakes, rivers and Puget Sound have been closed due to heat here, \u00a0so I found these cute little mermaid sisters on my doorstep looking for a safe place to harbor.<\/p>\n

\nTo make these delightful mermaids, I covered their torsos with antique looking tissue paper.
\nI popped on tiny sets of sea shells collected many years ago in Mexico, for their tops. I used stringed gold sequins for their fins\u00a0and finished the tail ends off with a gold paint marker.
\nPaperWhimsy\u00a0faces, some sea weed looking fibers for hair, some ribbon that looks like green seaweed and a pearl necklace finish them off. \u00a0They are ready for the Neptune Ball!<\/p>\n
