All Instructions, Designs and Templates \u00a9Rande Hanson.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n All trees are approximately 12 inches tall including base and tree topper.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Paperwhimsy items used for the trees:<\/span><\/p>\n \n <\/span><\/a>Felt Fabric, Roving, Fantasy Fibers<\/a><\/p>\n \n <\/span><\/a>Clover Felting Tool and Mat<\/a><\/p>\n \n <\/span><\/a>Fiber Joy Sampler<\/a><\/p>\n \n <\/span><\/a>Ribbons<\/a><\/p>\n \n <\/span><\/a>Trinkets and Beads<\/a><\/p>\n \n <\/span><\/a>Rusty Ivy and Wire<\/a><\/p>\n \n <\/span><\/a>GildenGlitz<\/a><\/p>\n \n <\/span><\/a>Duo Adhesive<\/a><\/p>\n \n <\/span><\/a>Glitter<\/a><\/p>\n \n <\/span><\/p>\n A template is provided for a 10 inch tree and tree toppers, at the end of the tutorial. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Cut the base template out of watercolor paper or something that will give the base a bit of stability. <\/span>Overlap at the dotted line and secure. I used packing taking to and wrapped around. <\/span>Leave a small opening at the top to attach the topper. <\/span>Cut a piece of felt fabric approximately 3\/8 inches larger than template. <\/span>The fabric will draw up a bit after felted. <\/span>It can be trimmed after felting if necessary. <\/span>Lay roving over the felt piece in two layers, one across and one in the opposite direction. <\/span>Lightly felt with Clover tool and mat. <\/span>Wrap felt around the base and stitch with coordinating thread or embroidery floss. <\/span>You can now begin to decorate.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Past Christmas tree<\/strong>. <\/span>Wrap rusty vine around the base at an angle. <\/span>I used 5-6 pieces. <\/span>Wrap rusty wire in the same fashion, going in the opposite direction. <\/span>Fill in empty spaces by sewing on vintage Mother of pearl buttons. <\/span>Randomly add small pieces of peach embroidery floss, tied in a knot. <\/span>Make a small bow from ribbon and attach with fabric glue at the top. <\/span>Insert a rusty star in the top opening for the topper.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Present Tree<\/strong>. <\/span>Add a thin layer of fantasy fiber to the roving layers before felting. <\/span>Using the fiber sampler, just unwrap, and begin wrapping the bundle around the base. <\/span>Attach to base with coordinating embroidery floss or thread. <\/span>Add leaf beads attaching on edges of the fibers. <\/span>Add a touch of fiber glue to keep in position. <\/span>Using the star template, cut from heavy chipboard or similar, attach a small stick with glue. <\/span>Cover with gold glitter on both sides. <\/span>When dry insert in opening of cone, secure with glue.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Future Tree<\/strong>. <\/span>Add a thin layer of fantasy fiber to the roving before felting. <\/span>Cut 8 each 12 inch lengths of ribbon. <\/span>Glue the ends and insert in the top opening of the cone. <\/span>Space the ribbons around the base and glue inside the bottom of the cone. <\/span>Wrap silver metallic chenille stems around the cone. <\/span>Attach the mirror bits in empty spaces with fabric glue. <\/span>Using the circle template, cut from heavy chipboard or similar, attach a small stick with glue. <\/span>Cover with silver glitter on both sides. <\/span>When dry insert in opening of cone, secure with glue.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Bases<\/strong>. <\/span>I used 5 inch wood discs, from craft store. <\/span>Paint with acrylic paint in coordinating color. <\/span>For Present and Future, I added GlidenGlitz using Duo Adhesive.<\/span><\/p>\n
